Williamsburg Attractions Host Unique Historic Events this Spring
Williamsburg is offering a variety of fun events this spring. Book your Williamsburg vacation to see all that’s available at America’s Historic Triangle.
Pirates invade Yorktown April 19 and 30 at the Riverwalk Landing. This free event includes live history performances, educational activities, encampment and other demonstrations.
Jamestown Day at Historic Jamestowne and Jamestown Settlement takes place May 14. The event will feature Maritime demonstrations, military drills, archaeology and programs on English and Powhatan Indian contact. The celebration marks the 404 anniversary of the 1607 founding of Jamestown, America’s first permanent colony.
A season of Yorktown Market Days begins on May 14. Fresh produce, meat and seafood, baked goods, flowers, art, entertainment and many other things are available. Yorktown Market Days take place on Riverwalk Landing every Saturday morning from May 14 to September 17.
Colonial Williamsburg presents Revolutionary City now through November 19. The Revolutionary City live re-enactment at Colonial Williamsburg tells the story of the transformation of America from subjects of a distant monarch to the citizens of a self-governing nation. The presentation takes place throughout the afternoon in various areas of the historic park. Purchase your Colonial Williamsburg passes now to witness Revolutionary City.
Williamsburg hosts Festival Williamsburg May 27 through May 29. Chick Corea & Gary Burton will perform on May 27 at 8pm. Big Bad Voodoo Daddy take the stage May 28 at 8pm, and Lynda Carter will perform on May 29 at 5:30pm and 8pm.
Civil War Weekend is scheduled for May 28 and 29 at Yorktown Battlefield. The event features tactical demonstrations, encampments and a confederate field hospital. Memorial Day ceremonies will take place at Yorktown National Cemetery and Confederate Cemetery.
