September is "Arts Month" in Williamsburg Virginia
The month of September is officially known as “Arts Month” in Williamsburg, Virginia. For the entire month, businesses and galleries will present artistic events, culminating in the Occasion for the Arts on the first weekend of October. Williamsburg is known as America’s Historic Triangle as it is home to Colonial Williamsburg, Jamestown Settlement and Yorktown. During September, however, guests have even more of a reason to travel to Williamsburg as there are already over 75 art-based events planned, including a Gallery Crawl on September 29. For $40, guests can board chartered buses to visit galleries around town, sip wine and sample cheese. The shuttles will also make three stops at bed and breakfasts, where artists and gallery owner will share their works.
Other events include the Art on the QT fundraiser at Century Art Gallery, artist’s demonstrations every Saturday at A Touch of Earth of Richmond Road and pet-themed events at Nautical Dog.
The arts month concludes with the two-day An Occasion for the Arts event of October 1 and 2, 2011.
