September is Arts Month in Williamsburg
From Labor Day to October 7, Williamsburg and the
surrounding areas celebrate the arts. Art galleries, markets, Jamestown
Settlement, and Yorktown Victory Center are just some of the places you’ll be
able to see special exhibits, displays, and demonstrations. Below is a list of
venues and events participating in Arts Month around town.
New Town Art Gallery
New Town Art Gallery will be showcasing original works by
local Williamsburg artists including oils, watercolor, acrylics, and mixed
media. Plus, they’ll be featuring jewelry and sculptures.

Yorktown Market Days
The weekly market will be celebrating Arts Month with
artwork and live entertainment in addition to the normal seasonal fruit,
vegetables, breads, cheeses, flowers, and much more.

Landing, Yorktown
A Touch of Earth
This American crafts and art gallery will have artists and
demonstrations each weekend along with refreshments and prizes.

Virginia Gourmet
Sample local artisan foods and view local crafts at Virginia
Gourmet during Arts Month.

Circle, Williamsburg
Jamestown Settlement
See an astounding collection of artifacts from 17th
century Virginia archaeological sites including cookware, portraits, documents,
tools, and weapons.

Yorktown Victory
Center
Examine artifacts from the time of the American Revolution
including documents, paintings, military equipment, nautical objects, and
clothing.

The Yorktown Art
Stroll
The art stroll will take place on September 30 from noon –
6pm. Stroll through Yorktown’s galleries, shops, Watermen’s Museum, and
Riverwalk Landing to see paintings and artwork by regional artists. Yorktown
restaurants will feature lunch and dinner specials.
